If you have spent much time here at BeHappy101.com, you may know that I am a big advocate of creating multiple streams of income as a way to generate wealth, happiness, and fulfillment (if the things money can buy are part of your personal Definition of Happiness).

Internet marketing income is one of the ways I suggest everyone consider as part of a multiple streams of income strategy.

What Is Internet Marketing?

Internet marketing, or online marketing, refers to advertising and marketing efforts that use the Web and email to drive direct sales via electronic commerce, in addition to sales leads from Web sites or emails. Internet marketing and online advertising efforts are typically used in conjunction with traditional types of advertising like radio, television, newspapers and magazines.

Specialized Areas of Internet Marketing...

Internet marketing can also be broken down into more specialized areas such as Web marketing, email marketing and social media marketing:

1) Web marketing includes e-commerce Web sites, affiliate marketing Web sites, promotional or informative Web sites, online advertising on search engines, and organic search engine results via search engine optimization (SEO).

One of many examples of "affiliate marketing" is represented by my Amazon program here.  If you buy products through amazon.com, it would be great if you would consider using my website as the "link" to your amazon purchase (by using the search widget here) since everything you buy would provide a small "commission" to me for referring you to amazon (so, I am an amazon "affiliate"). 

There is no extra cost to you and it helps me keep this website up and running, providing happiness information, products and services to as many people as possible.

2) Email marketing involves both advertising and promotional marketing efforts via e-mail messages to current and prospective customers.

3) Social media marketing involves both advertising and marketing (including viral marketing) efforts via social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Digg.

How Much Income Is Possible With
Internet Marketing?

Like with most other things, the amount of money anyone you can make doing internet marketing varies from nothing to literally millions of dollars PER MONTH, depending on many factors, such as time and effort put in and your overall strategy.

Unlike many other things, though, it is relatively easy to make a very nice income - even a full-time income - with much less time and effort than most people spend at their job. 

I know of many people who make $10,000 - $50,000 and more PER MONTH, spending less than 20 hours a week on internet marketing.

Getting Started...

Generating income from internet marketing can start very quickly.  You can start today and literally be making money tomorrow.  It doesn't usually happen that way, but it it possible.  It took me several months before I started making money online.  My goal is to be able to derive a mid-to-high-six-figure income from it and be able to do what I want from wherever I want.  The picture below, for example, is from several months ago, when we were on our boat, tucked into a cove at Catalina Island, all by ourselves.  Although we were mainly relaxing, I did do some work on this website - like my daily Thought for The Day (which I post every single day, 365 days per year).

The best way to get started making money from internet marketing is to learn more about it.  It's really quite simple, and in many cases, even easy.
